Simbang Gabi jitters

I noticed how slow friendster blogs is. Perhaps, that’s why only a few members bother to create their own blog. I’m not sure if the problem lies with the blogging platform used (I’m using wordpress in my other blog). Maybe the ‘wordpress to friendster’ integration isn’t stable. I don’t know.

My my, I’ve been talking geek once again. Sheesh.

I rushed to church last night for the yearly observance of the Simbang Gabi. I was supposed to catch the 8 p.m. mass at the Basilica only to get off the PUJ at the newly constructed Santissima Trinidad (yup, the one near SM) only to find out later that I was half an hour late. grrr.

At the end of the liturgy, the priest announced that it was the second night of Simbang Gabi, much to my dismay. I was actually hoping to complete the nine masses (I couldn’t do that in Baguio- mass there starts at 4 a.m. and I always overslept).

Searching online, websites that have been saying that the traditional mass starts on DECEMBER 16 (yeah, yesterday). Now I’m utterly confused with the church’s calendar but I still plan to complete whatever is left hoping to get my one wish on Christmas Eve.

Hey, a guy can dream you know.

Speaking of last night, Simbang Gabi also brings to mind native delicacies like Puto Bumbong and Bibingka. Just like many others, I fell in line to buy a piece or two to bring home.  However, they were sold out even before I could even check how much they cost, with one of the stores having a total order of 17 pieces just from one person.

I was walking home the other day and out of boredom, I took a picture of this dream house of mine. They were pretty much adding the finishing touches -paint, varnish, etc when I passed by. It stands on a small lot (which I wish was a little bigger), so maybe I’d have that in mind in the near future.

I have a class at 4 pm. Social Science and then a report on the Pansipit River for Environmental Law and a Prelim exam due today which I haven’t worked on yet. I will find a way. LOL
