Reality Check

Friendster has been a really helpful tool for me these past days. Aside from the networking service it offers, one of its services that I actually appreciate (that facebook does not have) is the daily horoscope. What’s freaky about it is that for once, I have actually come to believe in astrology and horoscope just because of it.

Take this one time where I had a fight with a very close relative of mine, only to find out that my horoscope here for that very day, speaks of the problem itself clearly and without need for interpretation.

It named the different parties involved and what I should do to ease the conflict between us.

I admit that I have been eyeing someone these past days. It’s nothing deeper than a personal attraction I sure bet to lose anytime soon but friendster saved me from all the melodrama that was supposed to ensue had I taken the plunge.

*again nothing romantic. just some sort of a fling or two*

How, you may ask? Here’s my horoscope for today:

The Bottom Line

A more intellectual connection with that new cutie may not be possible. Move on.

In Detail

Are you hungry for a more intellectual connection with that new cutie in your life? Start getting comfortable with the idea that it just might not happen. If the attraction doesn’t go much deeper than physical attraction, you can’t push it. But at the same time, if that’s not enough for you, then you need to be ready to move on. You’re never going to be happy with someone who doesn’t give you everything you need — including scintillating conversations.

I guess I’ve known for quite some time that the cutie wasn’t exactly intelligent. Oh, well. Unless there’s alot of character or enough reason for me to stay ‘hooked’, maybe this would be the end of the road for the both of us.

Master Rapper Francis Magalona passed away. At first, I was shocked to hear the news since the last time I actually heard about his attempt at chemotherapy was only a few months ago.

Meaning, had the therapy been more of a success, he would have at least lived longer. I was wrong. Death was like a thief in the night when took away the poor pinoy rap icon without anyone actually taking notice.

I am not really a fan of Francis M although I do love some of his works like the ‘kaleidoscope world’. But what really surprised me was that the guy was a blogger, a  feat only a few guys bother to do. He speaks of his daily routine, band rehearsals and music releases without all the usual commercialization artists do.

He reminds me of Victor Basa. Before Victor became a PBB housemate and before he was catapulted to the limelight, he was one of those guys who kept a blog about their thoughts.

Here’s an example of a blogpost on kiko’s website:

I will not be bold to say that without asking a favor from you all. PLEASE PRAY for me as I undergo treatment. Your prayers, as always, have sustained me. And am sure the Lord will listen to all our prayers. To His will I submit myself.
See what I actually mean?

I talked to another friend and we both had the epiphany that the correct term to describe me isn’t actually mayabang, rather, it’s intimidating.

I don’t appear mayabang- I appear to ‘know it all’, with emphasis on the word APPEAR. I don’t know why but I do admit that I have this aura that says “I mean business”.

A friend even said people tend to back away when I’m around. It’s as if they’re not allowed to commit mistakes, fearful that I’d correct them immediately.

I guess the only thing to do is smile. :D

After all, what’s the best way to break the ice than to smile?

I received a message here on FS that says someone allegedly uses my pictures and presents himself/herself as me. LOL.

Does that mean I should also say “I hate posers”. LOL
